Schuh Launches French Site

Schuh, the British footwear retailer is venturing into the European marketplace by launching the French version of their website, www.fr.schuh.eu, which is a replica of the original site.

As 18 per cent of all of Schuh’s sales comes through online transactions, the retailer has confirmed that they see France as the ‘ideal testing ground’ for its European expansion, after the retailer enjoyed ‘healthy sales in the region’ via its .eu website. The retailer is hopeful that the French website will help accelerate the brand’s expansion into other new markets.

Apart from the site being in French, additional customer service support of four French speakers has also been appointed by the footwear retailer specifically to deal with shoppers from the site. They will be based at the brand’s Livingston head office. Keeping in mind customer convenience, Schuh have secured a Paris phone number for customer enquiries and a local address in France will be provided for returns as it will cut out expensive international charges for the customers.

Hello Kitty Now In India

Sanrio Co, the designers and distributors of character-branded stationery, school supplies, gifts, and accessories have now entered into the Indian apparels market with the launch of their creation, Hello Kitty. The company is launching it in association with Twenty One Fashion Studio, as their sole licensee and distributors.

Hello Kitty is one of Japan’s unique cultural exports, and the ultimate symbols of Kawaii, meaning cute in Japanese. The brand’s apparel collection in India will add a little magic to the young one’s wardrobe with vast range of Hello kitty collections which will definitely make you say, ‘Fashion is fun with Hello Kitty’.

The apparel consists of various themes viz. Wall of fame, L’amour vintage, Arctic fever.L’il wild things &‘Ethnicity’. In India to give local flavor for an international character, they have introduced Hello Kitty lehanga sets. LIFEwithBIRD Kicks Off Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia

The Melbourne-based label, LIFEwithBIRD celebrated its 10th anniversary with an intimate show in the Sydney Opera House’s Utzon Room, unvealing their Summer 2012/13 collection against the slightly overcast backdrop of the Sydney Harbour.

‘The Distance Between’ was a reflection on the brand’s journey till date. LIFEwithBIRD knows its customer well who want breezy minimalism drapped in mesmerising digital prints. In this collection the prints paid homage to a side of Australiana so often overshadowed by things like Rodarte’s awkward hand-print reference to Aboriginal culture. Liquid silk singlets and trousers depicted digitised splatters of salty sea spray and the shadows of rugged cliff faces, all done in pretty hues of peach and aqua blue.

Structural mini dresses saw luxurious jacquard peppered with intricate cut-outs and bodycon dresses leaned toward athleticism, to an almost futuristic effect. A few more of them wouldn’t have gone amiss but then there would be no room for The silky separates and draped jackets that LIFEwithBIRD do so well was also part of the collection.
