Schuh, the British footwear retailer is venturing into the European marketplace by launching the French version of their website, www.fr.schuh.eu, which is a replica of the original site.
As 18 per cent of all of Schuh’s sales comes through online transactions, the retailer has confirmed that they see France as the ‘ideal testing ground’ for its European expansion, after the retailer enjoyed ‘healthy sales in the region’ via its .eu website. The retailer is hopeful that the French website will help accelerate the brand’s expansion into other new markets.
Apart from the site being in French, additional customer service support of four French speakers has also been appointed by the footwear retailer specifically to deal with shoppers from the site. They will be based at the brand’s Livingston head office. Keeping in mind customer convenience, Schuh have secured a Paris phone number for customer enquiries and a local address in France will be provided for returns as it will cut out expensive international charges for the customers.
